According to transfer news from Express&Star, Aston Villa are the favourites to sign Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham. A £20m deal could be on the cards as the striker has been on the fringes for a while now.
It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench in recent weeks. The academy graduate has hardly featured over the last 3 months or so, often coming off the bench in the dying minutes or not featuring at all.
Abraham broke into the first-team last season under Frank Lampard and was a vital part of the side that finished fourth. However, the England international has slipped down the order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and Timo Werner. The likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate.

Villa, of course, are no strangers to Tammy Abraham. The Chelsea academy graduate spent the 2018-19 season at Villa Park and propelled the then Championship side to the Premier League with his goal-scoring exploits. It was that season at Villa that pushed him into the fray for a starting spot at Chelsea for the following season.
Now, it has been reported that Villa will return for the striker as they have been marked at favourites to complete the deal. Abraham could be available for around £20m given how less he has featured since Thomas Tuchel took over.
Marcus Bent thinks Tammy Abraham should sign for Villa or West Ham
Former Everton striker Marcus Bent has exclusively told The Transfer Tavern that Tammy Abraham could become one of Aston Villa’s key players should he join them this summer.
Bent said that a return to the East Midlands would suit the 23-year-old frontman, although he also hinted at a possible move to West Ham:
“He spent a little bit of time at Villa and done quite well. But the price-tag they have put on his head is unbelievable for someone who isn’t playing.
“But again, those price-tags are getting thrown about everywhere. Of course, he wants to stay at Chelsea, but I think the best club for me would be Villa or West Ham.
“Villa, great stadium, great city and I think if he was to go there, he would be one of the key players for their stability and scoring goals. And that’s what players thrive on, and we know he can score a goal, he plays for his country, so Villa or West Ham for me.”
