Operators have reported a record 85% of their customers are now utilising self-exclusion measures, deposit limits, and other responsible gambling resources.
According to the EGBA report, the number of self-exclusion registrations alone has jumped by 22%, demonstrating a heightened awareness and proactive stance among gamblers.

Additionally, the EGBA highlighted that member companies are making substantial strides in promoting these tools, resulting in a 30% increase in marketing spend dedicated to responsible gambling campaigns.
Interestingly, the data also shows that 60% of users who set deposit limits chose daily limits, with the remaining 40% opting for weekly or monthly restrictions.
According to EGBA’s Secretary General, Maarten Haijer, “This significant increase in the use of safer gambling tools is a positive development and reflects the industry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding players.”
The report also indicates that over 70% of active users interacted with at least one responsible gambling feature in the past year, a substantial rise from the previous 58%.
Furthermore, the EGBA’s findings reveal that the average duration of self-exclusion periods has increased, with more individuals opting for long-term exclusions. This trend suggests a shift towards more serious and sustained efforts to manage gambling habits.
With the rise in the use of these tools, the industry is witnessing a cultural shift towards prioritising player safety and responsible gambling, as evidenced by the comprehensive data and significant percentages reported by the EGBA.
