Everton consider move for ex-Arsenal and Chelsea winger

Willian, 36, has been offered to Everton as the Toffees look to strengthen their squad, marking a potential return to the Premier League

Willian, a seasoned Premier League winger with 778 career appearances and 115 goals, could be returning to England.

The 36-year-old has been offered to Everton, according to The Telegraph, as the club looks for January transfer window reinforcements.

Having played for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Fulham, Willian last appeared in the Premier League for Fulham before moving to Olympiacos in the summer.

His stint in Greece was marred by injuries, but he is now reportedly exploring a new chapter back in England.

Everton manager David Moyes recently spoke about the club’s transfer strategy: “If we can, we want to make additions. But we want to make additions which are going to be worthwhile,” he said.

The Toffees, currently in a challenging position, could use Willian’s experience and creativity in their squad.

Tom Cairney, Willian’s former Fulham teammate, praised his footballing intelligence: “I think football brain, out of this world. In my opinion, I don’t think he gets the recognition he deserves in the Premier League,” Cairney remarked, highlighting Willian’s ability to perform even alongside stars like Eden Hazard.

Evertonians may recall Moyes’ earlier tenure at the club with nostalgia. Reflecting on his return, Moyes noted: “It is absolutely a different Everton from when I left. We’ve got a great stadium in Goodison, and when it’s rocking, it’s really special.”

Willian’s vast experience, including stints at top clubs and success with Chelsea’s Premier League-winning side, adds to his appeal. Everton now face the decision of whether to bring in a veteran talent capable of inspiring their campaign.
