Football Manager gamer now runs real club in England’s 10th tier

Aaron Hunt, a Football Manager streamer, has gone from gaming to reality by taking over Daisy Hill FC, a struggling English 10th-tier club

Daisy Hill FC, a North West Counties Football League side, has a new chairman—and he didn’t come from the usual football background.

Aaron Hunt, a Bolton-born Twitch streamer and YouTuber, took over the club after guiding them to League Two in Football Manager.

The club, which has been running for 130 years, has faced financial instability, with dwindling support and limited resources.

Now, Hunt hopes to use his 25,000 Twitch followers and online influence to bring in sponsorships and fresh interest.

This club has so much history, and I want to make sure it doesn’t disappear,” he told local media.

Hunt’s appointment follows a recent trend of virtual managers making real-life moves.

Will Still, another Football Manager devotee, became Stade de Reims’ head coach in Ligue 1.

Iceland’s Orri Þórisson also took charge of Kormákur/Hvöt after years of gaming.

Daisy Hill FC is currently mid-table in the NWCFL First Division North, with an average attendance of just 120.

Hunt has already launched a crowdfunding campaign to improve the pitch, raising £5,000 in the first week.

His long-term goal? “Promotion and putting Daisy Hill on the football map,” he says.
