Stuttgart police, in collaboration with their Parisian counterparts, initiated targeted checks on numerous French hooligans from Tuesday afternoon.
This preemptive action aimed to prevent serious confrontations away from the stadium. The operation led to the detention of 59 French individuals, who will remain in custody until Thursday morning.
Additionally, 47 high-risk Stuttgart fans have been banned from attending the game and the city centre. Some of these individuals were found carrying weapons, further justifying the preventive measures.
Authorities discovered French hooligans at Stuttgart’s main train station and various hotels, where searches revealed disguise materials among other items.
