Konami have made FIFA look a little silly after latest update

The eFootball PES 2021 Data Pack 5 is out. It features an updated face for Man United forward Mason Greenwood and a number of other changes.

Konami have released their latest update, Data Pack 5, and it’s good news for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who now looks exactly as he does in real life courtesy of the incredible graphics.

United have a long-term partnership in place with Konami, the developers and publishers of the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) game series, which allows Konami to use United’s player likenesses, club badge, club name, club kits, Old Trafford and more in their games.

There is even a special Manchester United version of Konami’s latest release, eFootball PES 2021 Season Update, where fans can access exclusive United content on the game, including an exclusive loading screen, access to legends and more.

But eFootball PES 2021 Season Update isn’t a brand new version of the game, in fact, Konami made the decision to simply release a very similar version of last year’s eFootball PES 2020 game, but with updated transfers, kits and more, with a brand new game expected to be released this year.

eFootball PES 2021 mobile reaches 400m downloads

Konami Sports franchise have reached a new milestone this week: 400 million downloads across iOS and Android platforms.

Why isn’t EA Sports FIFA catching up

The current has had impacted EA’s ability to get scans done and so it’s looking like fans will have to wait until FIFA 22 for Greenwood to be official-looking.

“Due to the current global pandemic, unfortunately, we haven’t been able to visit the training ground this year due to club restrictions on external party access,” an EA spokesperson told MEN.

“We were able to capture Brandon Williams’ head scan during a visit to Carrington in February 2020 but Mason was unavailable to attend this session.”
